Green light for new homes after appeal overturned
Castletree GroupA housing development is set to go ahead after an appeal was overturned.
Jersey Planning Minister Sir Mark Boleat has granted permission for 26 new homes at La Ruette, La Rue du Moulin du Ponterrin in Victoria Village.
The plans were refused by the former Planning Committee in April after which developer Castletree Eco Village appealed the decision and planning inspector Fortune Gumbo recommended permission be granted.
The Victoria Village Community Group had raised issues about increased traffic and the widening of La Rue du Moulin de Ponterrin but the inspector found in the developer's favour.
Castletree GroupThe plans include the partial demolition of an existing property and redevelopment of the site for new homes - including one, two, thee and four-bedroom properties - car parking and gardens.
They also include moving the existing vehicle access on La Rue du Moulin de Ponterrin, making new footpaths and building a children's play space.
The Grade 4 listed bakehouse at the site is due to be retained.
