The water supply to about 900 homes, a school and some businesses in a market town has been restored after emergency repairs were carried out to a burst main.

Wessex Water said hundreds of properties had no water or low water pressure when the issue was first reported in Tellcroft Close in Corsham, Wiltshire.

The firm apologised to affected customers and said staff would continue to work to ensure everything was back up and running.

St Patrick's Primary School remains closed and declined to comment when asked when it would reopen.

Customers have been warned they may notice low water pressure for up to an hour and some discoloured water.

A Wessex Water spokesperson said: "We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by the burst water main and emergency repairs in Corsham.

"Our staff will continue to work in the area to ensure the network is back to normal."
