Amy Louise Stafford died in hospital after sustaining severe burns in a house fire

The family of a woman who died after a house fire said their lives have been "dimmed forever".

Amy Louise Stafford, 42, died in hospital from severe burns after a fire at a property in Attllebridge Way in Kingsway, Gloucestershire, at about 17:25 BST on Wednesday.

Police and the fire service said they were continuing to establish the cause of the fire, but they were "satisfied" there was no third party involvement.

In a tribute, Amy's family said: "A bright light in our lives has dimmed forever, our hearts will always seek out the warmth and love she brought to us all."

"Our beloved daughter and sister Amy has tragically been taken from us. We do not have adequate words to express how we feel.

"Our love goes out to all Amy's family and friends near and far.

"Goodbye dearest Amy, sleep now, we are so proud of our independent lady," they added.

They also thanked the emergency services "who fought tirelessly" to try and save her.
