Mexico match 'delivered everything', says England fan

An England football fan who watched the game against Mexico at the Azteca Stadium, said it "delivered absolutely everything".

Paul Clegg from Blackburn, has been following the Three Lions in North America during the World Cup and watched England qualify for the quarter-finals after beating Mexico 3-2 in a thrilling game that kicked off at 02:00 BST.

He said: "I've been wanting to come to this stadium for years and years" and Mexico have been "absolutely fantastic hosts".

Speaking straight after the match he said Mexico fans "have lost but they're not bothered, they're just having a party".

"Everybody's just having a great time," at the tournament, Paul Clegg says

He said the atmosphere was "just crazy".

"I've seen nothing like it in my life," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"Everybody's just having a great time."

"As we were coming out they were applauding us."

Clegg, who has been following England across the tournament is now planning his next trip to Miami where England face Norway in the quarter finals on Saturday.

He said the tournament was "just getting better and better and better and long may it continue".

"I'm convinced we'll beat Norway, there's a feeling amongst the England fans," he added.

"This is our time, you can't help but feel it."
