Nurse struck off over vulnerable woman relationship
Nathan Clarke/Nursing and Midwifery CouncilA district nurse who pursued a sexual relationship with a vulnerable woman she met while caring for her mother has been struck off.
A Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) fitness to practise panel found Jayne Livesey, from Blackburn, had crossed professional boundaries and abused her position of trust.
The panel concluded she had manipulated and exploited the woman, knowing she was vulnerable because of her mental health, and that this amounted to serious misconduct.
Livesey, who did not attend the virtual hearing, has been removed from the nursing register.
The panel heard she met the woman in 2017 and was referred to the NMC in October 2020.
Livesey, who no longer works as a nurse, has 28 days to appeal against the decision.
