More delays to online planning application portal
BBCSoftware upgrades have led to another delay in the launch of a new service to allow planning applications to be submitted online in Guernsey.
The Development and Planning Authority's director of planning Jim Rowles said he hoped the new service would now be up and running by the end of the year.
He has promised that once live, the new system will improve response times and make internal processes more efficient.
In 2023 Victoria Oliver, former president of the planning authority, announced the system would be up and running by the end of the year.
In a statement to the BBC Rowles said: "We're pleased with the progress being made on our new digital planning system which will replace our existing internal systems for processing applications for planning and building control.
"We have started carrying out staff training and expect to be ready to launch back-office and public search functionality later in the year.
"Once we've rolled out this first phase, we'll then move on to the second phase of this work which will enable customers to submit applications online, making it easier and quicker for members of the public and their agents to engage with the planning service."
