A new planning portal is set to be launched after delays, the States of Guernsey has said.

Director of planning Jim Rowles said the £200,000 system would replace the planning department's existing system for processing applications.

The States said it was set to launch at the end of the second quarter next year following delays from an external software provider.

Mr Rowles said it would "improve our ways of working and the digital services available to the public".

He said the new portal was being introduced with the aim of "improving response times and making internal processes more efficient".

"This will also enable customers to submit planning applications online, making it easier and quicker for members of the public to engage with the planning service," he said.
