CCTV shows moment fan fell from stand during goal celebration

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a Maidstone fan fell from the top tier of a stand at Ipswich Town's ground.

John Ryan was celebrating his team's goal when he fell on home supporters during the FA Cup clash in January 2024.

The footage was shown during his trial at Ipswich Crown Court, where jurors found the 62-year-old, of Railway Street, Chatham, Kent, not guilty of assault by beating and not guilty of causing actual bodily harm.

Ryan could be seen crying in the dock as the jury returned the verdicts and said afterwards "it's been very stressful".
