The therapy dog nominated for a community award

A therapy dog who is "making a difference" to people's lives in York has been nominated for a BBC community award.

Bronte meets older people at an afternoon tea session for people living with dementia, along with carers, family and friends at Middlethorpe Hall once a month.

The dog, who has been nominated for a Make A Difference award this year, has a close relationship with people like Peggy, 88, who has not missed a session at the National Trust property.

Regular visitor Ian, who cares for his wife Lorraine, said the afternoon tea sessions with Bronte helped his wife "relax".
