Archive video: Homes needed £50 deposit in 1962

Archive footage has revealed how home buyers in 1962 could secure a newly built semi-detached house with a £50 deposit.

Bushey Urban District Council built an estate in the Hertfordshire town where houses and flats were available from £3,000.

According to estate agents Savills, this was slightly above the average price across the UK.

BBC presenter Nancy Wise visited the estate and spoke to people who had bought homes there.
