A US leisure operator wants to build a 512-bedroom hotel and indoor water park in rural Derbyshire.
The proposed resort would include a water park, adventure park and 512-room hotel.
Paul Dowsing, of Clowne, was found guilty of six counts of rape, said South Yorkshire Police.
The claim is in response to Bolsover District Council approving plans for 1,800 new homes.
The plans include a 500-bedroom hotel, indoor water park and conference facilities.
A legal agreement has been completed, meaning the development has been granted outline permission.
Councillors have concluded it will be too hard to build new council homes at the site in Clowne.
A public consultation on the project, including a 500-bed hotel, will be held in the coming days.
