Man charged after police officer struck by car
PA MediaA 30-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after a police officer was hit by a car in Oakham.
Leicestershire Police said he was struck as officers investigated an illegally parked Honda CR-V in High Street at 15:10 GMT on 26 January.
After refusing to engage with officers, the man drove at one of them, the force said, causing the officer to hit the bonnet and land on the pavement, suffering minor cuts and grazes.
After a five-month investigation, the force made an arrest on Saturday morning.
A suspect will appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with assault by beating an emergency worker, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving with no insurance.
