Teenage driver dies in two-car crash
GoogleA teenage driver has died in a two-car crash, which also left four others injured.
The 19-year-old man from Hesleden was pronounced dead at Hesleden Road near Blackhall Colliery, where the crash happened just before 19:15 BST on Sunday.
He had been driving a Citroen C3 containing three passengers. The two boys and a girl, all aged 17, were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged.
The other car, a Volkswagen Passat, had been travelling in the opposite direction. Its driver, a woman aged 22, was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Durham Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident or those who saw the cars before they crashed.
