Ambassadors play an important role in helping improve mental heath care for diverse groups, the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said

Mental health ambassadors in the Black Country are being celebrated at an event in Wolverhampton.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said the event would "shine a spotlight" on the achievements of the ambassadors working in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

It will take place in The Bank on Thursday from 10:00 until 13:00 BST.

"Ambassadors have gathered feedback, shared experiences and helped shape fairer, more inclusive and anti-racist mental health services," the trust said.

It added: "The celebration event will bring together community members, people with lived experience, Black Country Healthcare colleagues, partner organisations and stakeholders to celebrate the progress made so far and explore how community-led change can continue to improve mental health services across the Black Country."

The event was intended to demonstrate Black Country Healthcare's commitment to listening to communities and learning from their experiences, the trust said.

Anyone with an interest in improving mental health services, is being encouraged to attend.
