Kayakers rescued after getting into trouble off Mull of Galloway
Portpatrick RNLIFour kayakers have been rescued after getting into trouble off the Mull of Galloway.
The Port William Inshore Rescue Service said it had been called out at about 07:18 by the Belfast Coastguard.
Three of the kayakers made it to rocks near the lighthouse and, after checking they were in no immediate danger, the search for the fourth continued.
Portpatrick Lifeboat was able to trace the last missing person - "safe and well, although exhausted" - about 2.5 miles (4.5km) off shore and all four were brought safely back to land.
"An excellent result which could easily have had a different outcome," said Port William Inshore Rescue Service on its Facebook page.
"Well done to everyone involved."
