Driver seriously injured in two-car crash

A woman has been seriously injured after two cars crashed on a road in a village.

The accident happened in Manor Road, in Hemingford Abbotts near St Ives, at about 16:00 GMT on Sunday.

Cambridgeshire Police said it involved a white Mazda CX-5 and a silver Toyota close to Hunts County Squash Club.

The Mazda driver, a 60-year-old woman from the Huntingdon area, was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious injuries while the driver of the Toyota, a 52-year-old man from Swavesey, was unhurt.

Officers have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
