Baye Bireme Fall, 16, died after being stabbed in Peterborough

A trial date has been set for two teenagers accused of murdering a 16-year-old who was stabbed at a Peterborough shopping precinct.

Baye Bireme Fall was attacked near the Ortongate Shopping Centre on Sunday.

Emidas Krutkevicius, 18, from Garton End Road in the city, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, have been charged with murder.

A plea hearing is due to take place at Cambridge Crown Court on 19 May ahead of a trial provisionally set for 12 October at Huntingdon Crown Court.

Both defendants appeared by video-link at Cambridge Crown Court and spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and that they could hear and understand what was happening.

Judge Mark Bishop remanded Krutkevicius in custody and the younger defendant into youth detention accommodation. No application for bail was made.

A post-mortem examination concluded the teenager died from a single stab wound.

Their trial is expected to last about four weeks.
