Nottinghamshire PoliceA man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed into a block of flats in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Woodborough Road, Mapperley, at about 23:15 BST on Sunday following reports a Vauxhall Corsa had gone through a ground-floor window of a residential building.
Eight people were temporarily evacuated from the building but the force said nobody was seriously injured.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, driving while unfit through drugs and dangerous driving. He has since been bailed.
The force added the man was found to be four times above the legal alcohol limit and told officers he had taken cocaine.
Following safety checks, structural engineers said the building remained safe despite the extent of the damage.
PC Joe Doherty, of Nottinghamshire Police, said it was "sheer luck" nobody was seriously injured or killed in the crash.
