Murder charge over woman's death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.

Sarah-Louise Pennington, 24, was found dead when emergency services attended an address in Oakwell Court, Longton, during the early hours of Sunday.

Kyle Pala, 30, from Longton and described as white British, was due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre later, Staffordshire Police said.

Officers were continuing to make inquiries in the area and were working to minimise the disruption to residents, the force added.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while officers have been working hard in the area over the last few days," a spokesperson added.
