Fire tackled at Leale's Yard site

People were advised to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed following a fire at the derelict Leale's Yard site.

The fire broke out at the site on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Guernsey Police said its officers, along with Guernsey Fire and Rescue, dealt with a structural fire at the site in St Sampson.

In a post on social media, the force said the blaze was "under control" with all roads open.
