Van driver held after man dies following A27 crash

A van driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a crash in which another motorist died.

The man, from Bexhill, was in a white Mercedes Sprinter when it was involved in a crash with a white Volkswagen Caddy van on the A27 westbound near Pevensey, just before 06:30 BST on Monday.

The 31-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The VW driver, a 20-year-old man from Heathfield, died from his injuries after the crash.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses.
