Tribute to former fighter pilot after fatal car crash
Family handoutThe family of a father-of-four who died following a crash in the summer has paid tribute to him.
Clive Nigel Fitz, 93, was the driver of a silver Ford Focus when it was involved in a crash with a black Kia Sportage and a Tesla at about 15:00 BST on 26 July on the A3023 Havant Road on Hayling Island.
Hampshire police said the driver of the Kia and the three passengers in the Ford Focus suffered serious injuries. The force said Fitz, from Hayling Island, had since died.
In a tribute, his family said he was "a fighter pilot, school master, husband for over 50 years, father of four boys, sports crazy, chatterbox, willing and able to engage anyone with friendly banter".
It continued, he was "a decent man with good morals and a kind soul, loved by many" who would be "very sadly missed".
Hampshire police said the Ford and Kia were both travelling southbound to Hayling Island - and the white Tesla Model Y was travelling north off the Island.
It is appealing to any witnesses, particularly those who have dash cam footage, to come forward.
