Man dies after car crashes into wall

A 70-year-old man has died after his car crashed into a stone wall in Calderdale, police have said.

The crash took place on the A58 Halifax Road at about 15:00 BST on Sunday after the Nissan Note, which was driving towards Hipperholme, veered off the road.

Emergency services attended but despite medical treatment the driver died at the scene, said West Yorkshire Police.

A spokesperson added the force is appealing for witnesses and footage and anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit.
