The construction of a neighbourhood centre on a new housing estate is expected to begin after the site was sold.

The site at Stanton Cross in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has been bought by Northhold Group from Stanton Cross Developments.

It is set to include a Co-op convenience store, four retail units, a nursery, 37 flats and a car park.

Stanton Cross Developments said the neighbourhood centre is part of the planning agreement for the wider development on the estate, which is expected to include 3,650 homes, employment land and shopping facilities.

The developer said an update on when the construction would begin, and when the supermarket and retail units are expected to open, would be provided in the coming weeks.
