Firefighters tackle wildfire near Eastbourne

Fire fighters are tackling a large blaze near Eastbourne, East Sussex.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to an area on the South Downs between Butts Brow and Eastbourne Downs Golf Club, off East Dean Road, Eastbourne, shortly after 16:00 BST.

Two fire engines and four support vehicles have been sent to the scene, with 20 sq m (65 sq ft) alight.

There are no reports of casualties and the fire has been contained, the fire service said.
