Man dies following single-car crash

A 31 year old man has died following a one-car crash in Ballyclare, County Antrim, on Friday.

Police say Matthew McIlroy, who was driving the car, was from the County Antrim area.

Emergency services were called to the Green Road at about 18:45 BST to reports of a black Audi A5 car which had crashed and overturned.

Police officers, along with members of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Green Road, which was closed for a time, has since reopened.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
