A hedgehog found under a seat on a train travelling from Surrey to London is to be rehomed, a train company said.

The unexpected passenger was discovered by a guard on a Monday lunchtime service travelling from Weybridge to London Waterloo.

South Western Railway said when challenged, the hog was a "little prickly" about their ticket, in a post to X, formerly Twitter.

The rail provider said the animal was kept at an operating centre at Waterloo station and is to be rehomed at a sanctuary.
