Police appeal after disorder at youth football match

Police have appealed for witnesses after disorder involving about 30 people at an under-18s football match in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police said officers were deployed to Owen Street in Coalville at 16:00 BST on Sunday, following altercations at the game between Coalville Town and Syston Town.

No-one suffered serious injuries and police inquiries are ongoing.

PC Katie Dawson said the force was trying to establish the circumstances that led to the disorder and what happened afterwards.

"I'm appealing for anyone who was there, and has not yet spoken to police, to come forward and provide their version of events," Dawson added.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to anyone who filmed anything on a mobile phone. Any details or footage you can provide could assist our investigation."
