Christmas jumpers wanted for annual charity day

Hull City Council said the annual collection was designed to make sure more of the city's children could take part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on 10 December.
The deadline for donations is 1 December.
Councillor Charles Quinn, cabinet portfolio holder for environment, said: "Last year, residents donated a record-breaking 145 jumpers, helping children across the city join in the fun of Christmas Jumper Day. This year, we would love to build on that success and collect more jumpers than ever before."
Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children's biggest annual fundraising events and has raised £42m since its launch in 2012.
Every December, the charity ask schools, workplaces and community and friend groups across the UK to put on their Christmas jumpers and donate whatever they can afford, typically £2 for adults and £1 for children.
Hull City Council said: "If your child has a Christmas jumper they've outgrown, donating it could make a real difference to a local family, ensuring every child can enjoy the Christmas Jumper Day festivities."
Donation drop-off points include The Wilson Centre, The Orchard Centre, as well various Beercocks estate agents in Hull, Hedon and Cottingham.
Staff at KWL, Reckitt and the Department of Work and Pensions are also able to receive unwanted jumpers at designated points within their workplaces.
