Passer-by rescues driver from submerged car
Seb Cheer/BBCA driver whose car became submerged after it entered Whitby Harbour has been rescued by a passer-by.
The incident happened at about 11:50 BST on Friday, with the rescue taking place prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Fire crews from Whitby and Lythe, as well as the coastguard and police, attended the scene.
Immediate emergency care was administered before the arrival of ambulance crews and the driver was then taken to hospital for treatment, according to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
