Two women arrested on suspicion of murder
BBCTwo women have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man.
Cleveland Police said its officers were called to Cedar House on Foxwood Drive, in Stockton, at about 02:44 BST by the ambulance service.
It said a man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two women, aged 41 and 54, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
The force said formal identification of the man had yet to take place but the individual's family had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.
Det Ch Insp John Bonner said: "We are working as quickly as possible to establish the circumstances of what happened, however, at this time we do believe that this was a targeted incident which took place inside a block of flats."
He appealed for people who visited Cedar House, which provides supported living accommodation, on Monday or Tuesday and who witnessed anything suspicious to contact the force.
Housing association Thirteen Group, which runs Cedar House, said it was "deeply saddened" by the incident.
Chief customer officer Serena Heathcote said: "We're providing support to residents, colleagues and those affected, and we'll continue to work closely with the police while investigations continue."
