Matthew Somerfield has been sent down for 18 months

A man has been jailed for 18 months for his role in an arson attack that destroyed five cars.

Matthew Somerfield, 39, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to assisting an offender.

Police were called to Barmouth Drive, Grimsby, during the early hours of 14 October 2025. No-one was injured in the incident.

Jason Gladding, 36, of Columbus Way, Grimsby, and David Maddison, 38, and Gary Mills, 42, both of Beeson Street, Grimsby, were sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court in July.
