Tractor driver denies causing man's quarry death

A tractor driver has denied causing the death of another worker in the car park of a Lincolnshire quarry.

Robert Garfoot, 35, is accused of causing the death of Craig Troop by careless driving following the incident at Welton Aggregates, near Welton le Marsh, on 11 November 2024.

Garfoot, of Charles Wright Court, Mablethorpe, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the case for a trial, which is expected to last four days, at Lincoln Crown Court on 24 May next year. He was granted bail until his next court appearance.
