Murder charge made after woman dies in stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was fatally stabbed in Hayes, west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called just before 08:00 BST to a property on Uxbridge Road on Sunday where they found Kirandeep Kaur with stab wounds. Despite efforts of emergency services, the 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was found outside the property, also with stab injuries. He remains in hospital and his condition is not considered to be life threatening.

Daniel Sean James, 44, of Mercer Place, Pinner, was also charged on Monday with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The Met said there would be an increased police presence in the area

A Met spokesperson said Kirandeep's next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
