Man, 80, dies after being hit by car

An elderly man has died after being hit by a car in Hanley.

Staffordshire Police said officers were called to Meigh Street at 11:26 GMT on Saturday after reports of an incident involving a pedestrian and a red Seat Leon.

The pedestrian, who was 80, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died later that night.

The force is appealing for dashcam footage of the incident, which it said happened at 11:23, and also asked people to come forward with any information.
