Two teenage boys have been taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in hit a building in Edinburgh.

The crash, involving a black Fiat 500, struck the building at the junction of Crewe Road North with West Granton Road at about 02:35.

The driver, 18, and passenger, 17, were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the road was closed.

Police said the 17-year-old had been arrested in connection with a theft.

Sgt William Low said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have seen the black Fiat 500 prior to the crash, or who has any dashcam footage which could assist, to get in touch."
