Detectives have charged a suspect in connection with the death of man at Edinburgh's Banana Flats.

Barry Gilgun is understood to have been stabbed during a disturbance outside the block - officially known as Cables Wynd House - at about 21:40 on Sunday.

Gilgun, 35, was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

Police Scotland said a 33-year-old man, who was arrested on Monday in connection with the incident, has now been charged.

He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Armed officers were called to a disturbance outside the flats - officially known as Cables Wynd House - at about 21:40 on Sunday.

Footage from the scene showed an ambulance and dozens of police cars.
