Attempted murder arrest after man stabbed at flats

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was seriously injured in a stabbing.

Derbyshire Police said officers were called to reports of a stabbing at flats in Holme Lea, off Town Street in Sandiacre, Derbyshire, at 23:30 BST on Friday.

A man in his 20s, from the Swadlincote area, was found at the scene and taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition, the force added.

Another man in his 40s, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, was also taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A police cordon remained at the property and officers will be in the area while inquires continue on Saturday.
