A former doctor's surgery could be converted into 12 studio flats for students under new plans.

The proposals have been put forward for the old clinic on the ground floor of Farrier House in Worcester.

The upper floors of the building in Farrier Street already house 63 rooms for students after being converted 10 years ago.

The application submitted to Worcester City Council says the clinic has not operated for some time and the tenants have relinquished their lease.

If approved, the ground floor of the building would become 12 flats, made up of four double rooms and eight singles.

The smaller rooms would have access to shared kitchen and dining facilities.

Existing rooms on the upper floors are accessed via the front of the building.

However, the proposed new studio flats would have a separate entrance on the south side of the premises, through a shared lounge space.
