Getty ImagesA murder investigation has opened after a 50-year-old man died following an assault in north London.
The Metropolitan Police were called to Hungerford Road in Islington at about 04:00 BST on 10 July.
Ahmed Jama, from Camden, was found with serious head injuries and taken to hospital where he died on Wednesday, the force said.
Two women, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Both have since been released on bail while further inquiries are carried out.
Jama's family has been informed of his death, police said.
Ch Supt Jason Stewart said the force’s thoughts were “first and foremost with Ahmed's family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
"I would ask anyone with any information, CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could support the investigation to contact us."
