Investigation after man in 30s found dead in street

A police investigation has begun after a man in his 30s was found dead on a street.

It happened earlier when police were called to Kersey Road, Kirkby, Merseyside, at 12:50 BST, after receiving a report from the North West Ambulance Service.

When officers arrived at the scene they found the body and put a cordon in place, Merseyside Police said.

The force added the man's death was being treated as unexplained while inquiries continued into what had happened.
