Homes plan at former E:On headquarters site
Redford DevelopmentsPlans to build homes on the site of energy giant E:On's former headquarters in Coventry have been submitted to the city council.
Redford Developments (RD) have drawn up proposals for 100 homes, along with a children's play area and public green space at Westwood Business Park, after E:On moved to Friargate near the city centre.
The site covers more than nine acres (3.8 hectares) and was the firm's headquarters between 1994 and 2025.
Richard Mees, CEO of Henley-in-Arden-based RD, said "This frees up a brownfield site located within a popular residential neighbourhood."
The developers held a public consultation on their proposals in April and, as a result, many of the trees on the site would be retained.
The scheme is one of two RD are proposing for the city.
GoogleThe other is a purpose-built student housing scheme, covering 4.4 acres (1.8 hectares) on a brownfield site near the University of Warwick's new Social Sciences quarter.
Permission for that development was approved in August 2025.
Mees said the former E:On site "has the potential to help meet the demand from local families for energy-efficient new homes."
The current submission is for outline planning permission and no date has yet been set for Coventry City Council's planning committee to hear and review the plans.
