Arrest after motorcyclist, 17, seriously hurt in crash
Dorset PoliceA 17-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured and a car driver arrested following a crash in the early hours, police have said.
Dorset Police said the crash, involving a white Mercedes-Benz A200 and a silver Yamaha motorbike, happened on the A35 Sea Road South in Bridport shortly after midnight.
The teenager from the Dorchester area is in hospital where police said his condition is described as life-threatening and his family had been informed.
The car driver, a man in his 30s from West Dorset, has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious.
Sgt Richard Stroud, of the Dorset Police roads policing team, said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and I am keen to hear from any witnesses.
"I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the relevant time and captured anything on dashcam footage that may assist our investigation."
The road reopened at about 08:30 BST.
