Two teenage boys have been arrested months after a wildfire.

A 13-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property valued over £5,000, following a blaze on land to the side of the A50, Staffordshire, on 12 August.

A 14-year-old boy, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of arson.

Staffordshire Police said they had both been released under investigation while enquiries continued.

A spokesperson for the force said the fire had "spread rapidly" with a number of homes evacuated at around 16:45 BST.

Anyone with doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time has been asked to get in touch.
