The crash on Sunday closed the road for several hours, police said

A 78-year-old woman who died in a car crash in Jersey has been named.

Linda O'Brien, known as Margaret, died in hospital after the crash on Route des Genêts in St Brelade at about 14:50 BST on Sunday.

States of Jersey Police said the investigation was ongoing under the supervision of a qualified collision investigator and "all lines of inquiry" were being considered.

The force said the other driver involved in the crash was assisting with the investigation "as a key witness".

A police spokesperson said: "We are not able to provide further detail at this stage, but our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of Margaret during this difficult time."
