Watch: 'Hot Fuzz' police chase through gardens

A police officer chased drug dealer Lewis Collier through at least eight gardens

A drug dealer has been filmed trying to crawl away from a police officer armed with a Taser after a dramatic foot chase through at least eight gardens.

Lewis Collier, 21, was arrested in Reading, Berkshire, on 9 April after apparently injuring himself by crashing through a fence, according to body-worn footage released by Thames Valley Police.

A police caption read: "Lewis ran and ran and ran and it became a bit like Hot Fuzz," referring to the comedy film starring Simon Pegg.

The 21-year-old, of Alan Place, was jailed at Oxford Crown Court for two years and two months for offences including dangerous driving and intent to supply cannabis.

The chase began when police spotted Collier's Audi A6 in Coronation Square.

He mounted a pavement, hit a car and drove into a pole in Southcote Lane before fleeing on foot, police said.

The chase, through gardens in Hatford Road, ended with Collier crawling along a path as the breathless officer shouted at him to stay still.

Collier later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply, possessing criminal property, criminal damage, driving without a licence or insurance and failing to stop after a road accident.

His jail term includes 10 months for breaching a previous suspended sentence.
