Firefighters deal with large field blaze

Firefighters from nine Shropshire fire stations were called to deal with a large field fire near Bridgnorth.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at 13:38 BST on Monday to land at Kingsnordley.

It said 40 hectares of crops, shrubbery and hedgerow were affected, and crews from the West Midlands and Hereford and Worcester fire services were also called to help.

At 17:25 the fire service said the blaze had been brought under control and it thanked people living nearby for following advice and staying away.
