Comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe have shown their support for a women's safety campaign that started in Guernsey.

The BE LADS campaign advises men on how to help women feel safer when walking alone.

It was created by Guernsey's Poppy Murray in 2021 and has now been promoted by the two comedians on their podcast Parenting Hell.

The pair speak about the BE LADS acronym – which includes B for be visible and D for distance yourself – and talk through a scenario.

The campaign has gained support from police forces, professional sports organisations, businesses and community groups.

Murray said the conversation between the comedians was "exactly the kind of chat all men could be having with each other".

She said: "Although helping women feel safe is an important topic, Rob and Josh proved that these conversations don't have to be heavy, drawn out, or difficult.

"The traction that BE LADS has gained over the last five years is phenomenal.

"The journey from a simple Facebook post to the likes of New Scotland Yard, Chelsea Football Club, and the Parenting Hell podcast reinforces the message that one person can make a difference, and small steps can have a big impact."
