Man due in court charged with rape at town bar

A man has been charged with rape and assault by penetration in connection with incidents at a bar in Castleford.

West Yorkshire Police said the offences were reported to have occurred at Sanctum Bar in 2024 and 2026.

Daniel Bennett, 43, from Kippax, was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The force confirmed officers were providing support to the victims, as inquiries continued.
