Village church hosts a 'sea of wedding dresses'
BBCAn exhibition with a difference has been taking place in a Lochaber village.
More than 30 wedding dresses ranging from the early 1950s up to 2025, worn by brides from the village or connected to the area, have been on display at Glengarry Church in Invergarry.
It was decided that this year's church flower festival would be wedding-themed featuring a host of dresses, which range in design, colour and style.
Sonja Robbins from the church, who was one of the organisers, said it had been a huge success.
She said that initially they expected to only feature two or three dresses in the display but the idea really took off.
She said that many visitors to the exhibition had found it an emotional experience.
"They've come in and just see this sea of wedding dresses ranging from the 1950s right through to 2025 and I think people just think it's wonderful," she said.
"It's making them remember little stories about their own weddings.
"It's the fact that the whole community came together to help us put it on.
"I think it's been a wonderful success."
